Title: The Screaming Staircase

Series: LockWood & Co. Book 1

Author: Jonathan Stroud

Rating: 5/5

Genre: Fantasy (Paranormal) /Historical Fiction

Format: Hardcover

Age: Young Adult (YA)

Subscription: I received this as my third book from Page1 Books. I reviewed my first box previously and explained how it works here.

From Goodreads: For more than fifty years, the country has been affected by a horrifying epidemic of ghosts. A number of Psychic Investigations Agencies have sprung up to destroy the dangerous apparitions. As far as I’m concerned, that’s all you need to know.

I LOVED this book! It was perfect for this time of year and was really quite creepy despite being targeted at a YA audience.

I loved the world building and the author even goes as far as to put a glossary in the back that includes many definitions relating to the paranormal activity in the book.

I did see the twist coming at the end but still found the plot enjoyable.
